About the role

Job Profile Summary:

The Business Analyst II will work with Finance User teams across Canada to clarify business needs during national projects or small user queries. The Business Analyst II will be involved in projects of different complexities with project managers and business analysts from different IT teams of the company. Effective collaboration will be required to organize and coordinate meetings and workshops in order to meet the priorities and mandate of the project. You will be challenged to summarize complex topics or meetings, seek consensus and facilitate decisions by proposing strategies and advice to remove blocking elements from the project plan.

What you’ll do here:

Participate in requirements gathering session with business and/or technical experts.

Collaborate with senior business analysts in working sessions to solve for data flow improvements or updates.

Support a cross-functional team to document end-to-end solutioning that meets the business requirements.

Participate in preparation of design documents to executives and IT experts that focuses on how the data will flow and be transformed throughout the finance ecosystem.

Track progress, list work to be done and meet timelines.

Support the validation team in preparing test data.

What you bring to the table:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, management of information systems or business intelligence or other relevant degrees.

Studies/minor in finance or accounting is considered an asset.

2 years of relevant experience in a business analyst role for finance team and/or financial systems.

Excellent communication skills in gathering clear and complete requirements and in synthetizing and presenting to colleagues.

Basic knowledge of financial, IT, database systems and technologies (Data Warehouses, SQL, SAS, ERP systems like Oracle, SAP, etc.).

Proficiency in the use of Office 365, Excel, Powerpoint, Visio.

Understanding of ETL principles, data elements, data structures and data modeling is considered an asset.

Knowledge of Jira, Confluence, an ETL tool and a RDBMS (e.g. Toad, MS SQL server) is considered an asset.

CPA Designation and IFRS17 experience is an asset.

Knowledge of P&C insurance industry an asset.

Can work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Can learn quickly.

Good analytical skills, insight and discipline.

Team player, independent and efficient.

Bilingual (French and English) Need to interact on a regular basis with an English-speaking clientele and colleagues across the country.
