Job Description

Reporting to the Manager IT Application Services, the IT Business Analyst’s role supports information systems solutions development by assisting with user requirements analysis, business systems design, testing, training and evaluation.

Key Accountabilities:

  • User requirements analysis and documentation
  • Business process documentation, analysis and optimization
  • Software and technical system documentation
  • Software test planning, execution and oversight for user testing, and results collection
  • Technical document writing and editing
  • Business case writing and development
  • Project coordination: maintaining schedules, status updates
  • Orientation, guidance and informal training to other employees; and
  • Other related duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Completion of a degree or diploma in Software Engineering, Information Systems or related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • The following would be considered an asset:
  • CBAP—IIBA (Certified Business Analysis Professional) equivalent
  • ITIL Certification;

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of IIBA’s Business Analysis Body of Knowledge
  • Excellent self-management and organization skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Customer service and business results oriented
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Active listener
  • Strong information gathering and information organization skills

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years’ IT Business Analysis experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and other documentation software
  • Experience with project management tools
