We are currently looking for a highly analytical, creative and forward-thinking BIE to join our Customer Service Finance team at our Seattle campus.

You will partner with our Finance team around the world to standardize our processes and reporting through the WW Customer Service Finance planning and reporting system, and support this system as it grows to meet additional needs over time. Since this project brings together important data sets you will be responsible for designing and implementing a solution using third-party and in-house technologies which will handle the growing business needs.

In order to create an innovative reporting system, you’ll have to manage to onboard additional data, create new views and tables with combined existing and new data and create a front end for users while ensuring a good data quality and keeping user friendly access. Beside extending functionality and quality second priority will be to improve the front end from data focused outputs in Excel to visualization tools. A good documentation using entity relationship diagrams is crucial for user to understand the data.

While onboarding new functionalities you’ll use your technical skills in IT Systems and Finance to ensure the solution implemented will fulfill business needs while being implemented in an efficient scalable way. Scalability is important not only in a technical sense but also to be able to handle the fast growing and changing business requirements.

Very important will be the end user support. To make the system successful finance users need to be trained in how to use existing reports as well as how to create ad hoc reports with existing data on their own. This tasks will be ongoing for new hires as well as for extensions to the system.

New requests coming from the business have to be on-boarded with a proper project management including project planning, implementation, and communication to management as well as to users.

The successful candidate will be a self-starter with strong data gathering and modeling skills, a keen attention to detail, and an ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

  • Design, implement, and support system platform providing secured access to large datasets.
  • Model data and metadata to support ad-hoc and pre-built reporting. Design, development, and maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc. to drive key business decisions.
  • Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation.
  • Tune application and query performance using SQL.
  • Work with data source providers and technology teams to ensure that key decision data is accurate, automated and timely.
  • Respond to high priority requests from senior business leaders.
  • Developing scalable, adaptable and efficient processes to support financial reporting and related processes.
  • Own end user support for the system, including support on the use and interpretation of information as well as developing and leading training sessions.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA/BS degree in Information Systems, Information Management, Finance, Business, Economics, Engineering and/or similar discipline with analytical bias
  • 4+ years experience working as a Business Intelligence Engineer, Data Engineer or Data Scientist
  • Good knowledge of SQL, Linux, RDBMS databases and OLAP
  • Knowledge of data warehousing and dimensional modeling concepts
  • Knowledge and direct experience using business intelligence reporting tools. (OBIEE, Business Objects, Cognos, Tableau, MicroStrategy, SSAS Cubes, etc.)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills and an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams
