This position will be based out of Vancouver General Hospital and aligned with our Lower Mainland Laboratories.

What you’ll do

  • Support the achievement of the goals and associated outcomes of the workflow team by providing expertise in analysis, benchmarking, decision support, and modeling for the workflow improvement team members and their associated working groups.
  • Identify initiatives that require workflow improvement to continually improve the provision of patient care and quality of workflow patterns for staff and maximize use of organizational resources through methods such as analysis of Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) data bases and performance data, input from Directors/Managers and working groups, surveys etc.
  • Conduct workplace efficiency analysis, business system analysis, and operational improvement analysis to assist with meeting the goals and deliverables for the workflow improvement team.
  • Develop performance reports for designated workflow improvement teams and for ongoing monitoring of performance metrics and reporting of efficiency and performance for the Ministry of Health, Vancouver Coastal Health, and the designated Health Service Delivery Areas (HSDAs).
  • Provide best practice expertise to workflow teams through research, evaluation, model development, feasibility studies, and business case development associated with innovative service delivery models that will support the goals and deliverables of the workflow team

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or a related field.
  • A minimum of five (5) years recent related experience in a health care environment or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of current spreadsheet, word processing, graphics and database applications.
  • Working knowledge of a modeling or simulation program is required.

  • Comprehensive knowledge and technical expertise in financial analysis, project/process management; knowledge of business applications; and demonstrated business acumen.
  • Expertise and support in the development of organizational goals and objectives, performance indicators, appropriate databases and statistical and analytical tools.
  • Strong verbal and written communication as well as facilitation skills to work effectively in a team setting and with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Effectively and accurately responds to the needs of stakeholders and is acutely aware of the impact of decisions and actions on the organization and various stakeholders.
  • Ability to identify issues, and to develop and analyze solutions to resolve problems.
  • Effective organizational skills and ability to prioritize work in response multiple deadlines.
