Responsibilities
Reporting to the Health Service Manager or delegate, the Care Team Assistant is responsible to provide care to residents in an acute care setting, but may include the emergency department. Essential components of this position include: the ability and willingness to follow oral and written instructions; good physical and mental health; ability to work cooperatively with fellow workers; have a sincere interest in and respect for patients along the lifespan continuum, and the ability to keep matters related to residents strictly confidential.
Qualifications
- Grade 12
- Continuing Care Assistant Program plus certification (or equivalent as defined by the employer) required
- Previous Long Term Care experience preferred
- Alzheimer and Dementia Care courses strongly preferred
- Current CPR certification
- Understands the principles of patient-focused care as it relates to a broad patient population
- Understands the concepts of working within an interdisciplinary team as an approach to providing patient care
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Competencies in other languages preferred, French an asset

Salary Information
Care Team Assistant:
$18.6676 – $20.1920 hourly
