Description
This position will report to the general manager and be accountable for all aspects of the retail locations on campus & all catering events on or off campus.
The rincumbment will be primarily responsible to manage the overall Standards of the retail & catering operations and deliver outstanding results in food innovation, customer satisfaction and budget management. To liaise with the operations team and client on a daily basis and deliver a high class retail service. To ensure that Aramark maximises opportunity in sales and profitability.
Retail & Catering team all directly report to this position along with central support from marketing, culinary and finance.
Catering responsibilities :-
- Oversee catering functions and special events for internal and external clients/ groups.
- Meet with clients to determine catering requirements, floor plans, rentals, staffing for events.
- Responsible for customer booking and creating contracts.
- Work closely with Executive Chef and Catering Chef to plan menus for clients.
- Responsible for final approval of catering contracts pre-event.
- Ensure job instructions are clearly understood so that tasks are completed effectively to the client’s satisfaction.
- Ensure all staff provide quality, courteous service to all customers.
- Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards.
- Manage catering purchases and inventory.
- Participate in Operational Reviews for Catering Department.
- Responsible for Catering Budget.
- Conduct weekly meetings with team.
- Ensure that all outside personnel such as agency waiters and bartenders meet Aramark standards and are well informed about the job we require them to do according to the functions, special events and delivery.
- Responsible for seeking new clients and sales to grow the business.
- Establish and maintain clientele rapports.
- Resolve customer concerns.
- Oversee staff scheduling.
- Oversee training and management of staff.
- Ensure proper handling of Company Property.
- Ensure all staff adhere to the Health and Safety Policy as well as Aramark Policies and Procedures.
- Adhere to the Aramark policies and procedures, as well as the Health and Safety standards.
Retail responsibilites :-
- Work with senior team to ensure constant innovation and freshness to offer
- Ensure execution of promotional offers on site and set up with team
- Assess service points weekly to ensure adequate stock, presentation and quality
- Ensure new offers are implemented as required`
- Ensure executional framework standards are in place
- Check pricing to ensure maximised sales
- Carry out daily team briefs to highlight business critical requirements
Financial – Key Responsibility
- Ownership of financial performance against company plan
- Ensure budget targets are met on sales and costs
- Maintain LST and meet labour targets
Compliance – Key Responsibility
- Monthly management of safety and GMM
- Monthly management and execution of food safety program
- Monthly management and execution of food management program
Customer and Client – Key Responsibility
- Drive marketing plan with team to deliver participation and sales growth
- Meet with client and ensure constant communication
- Review customer feedback and take appropriate steps
Talent/HR – Key Responsibilities
- Ownership and responsibility for recruitment across business
- Ownership & Maintenance of HCMS
- Completion of appraisal process for team
- Complete training and development plans for own area, including the company compulsory training
- Attend, take active role in the talent management forums
- Develop team to achieve required performance
- Work with HR lead to manage non performance and compliance issues

Operational experience at management level in food service/restaurant/event/ retail/contracting /operation
