Responsibilities
Reporting to the Program Leader or delegate, the Booking & Registration Clerk is the initial contact for the clinic. The Booking & Registration Clerk provides clerical support to clinic operations including the interdisciplinary team including all mental health professionals, physicians/psychiatrists, and the Health Services Manager. Clerical support may include but is not limited to registering clients and referrals, faxing, photocopying, answering phone calls, data entry, responding to public inquiries and booking appointments. Works collaboratively with other support staff, mentoring when indicated; may be required to cover other positions within the clerical and admin support group. Ensures documentation is complete and accurate as per standards. Liaison between Health Information Services and the clinic team.
Qualifications
- Grade XII plus one year related experience or graduate of recognized one year related business/clerical program
- Demonstrated knowledge of STAR, PHS and Time Capture preferred
- Medical Terminology preferred
- Mental Health experience preferred
- Knowledge and understanding of mental health and addictions patient population with the ability to determine urgency and appropriateness of referral, patient or family interaction and when to obtain clinical input
- Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office programs preferred
- Customer service skills required
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Organization and multi-tasking skills
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
