The Community Corrections and Corporate Programs Division of the Corrections Branch is responsible for the delivery of programs and services to adult offenders or alleged offenders awaiting trial or sentencing, who are serving community based sentences of the court. The intent of these programs and services is to enhance public safety by assessing and managing the risk of the offenders and providing intervention to change behaviour. The Community Corrections Division works closely with the court system and the Adult Custody Division of the Corrections Branch, and responds to court and custody requests for pres-sentence and other reports. Community Corrections Offices are the primary location for client supervision and liaison with community and justice partners as well as the general public.
Under the direct supervision of the Office Manager, Administrative Assistant provides confidential office support services, frontline reception services, data entry for electronic systems, and maintains files and records, and provides financial support services.

Job Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:
- Secondary school graduation and a combination of one (1) year or more related experience, education and/or training. (Related experience i.e.: administrative support, clerical support, receptionist).
- Experience in word processing: formatting, editing and proofreading correspondence and related documents.
- Experience using standard Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Experience using electronic and physical filing and tracking systems.
- Keyboarding speed 30 wpm
Preference may be given to applicants with:
- Two (2) or more years’ experience working with the public providing customer relations support.
- Experience interacting with clients with mental health, substance misuse or behavioural issues.
- Experience working with CORNET and/or JUSTIN information system.
- Experience working in a correctional setting.
