Are you interested in applying your talents and knowledge and gaining valuable experience to support worker health and safety? We are seeking a student to work in the Collections department and assist with the analysis and processing of employer payments.

This is a 4 month position starting September 2021. Please note, should the current COVID-19 situation change, these positions may no longer be remote and will be based in our Richmond office.

What you’ll do

As a Collections Assistant co-op student, you will:

  • Analyze individual delinquent employer accounts, in a customized PeopleSoft Accounts Receivable system.
  • Determine which portion of employer’s outstanding debt is statute-barred from collection to ensure compliance with the B.C. Limitation Act.
  • Remove and document individual statute-barred items from the A/R system.
  • Utilize Microsoft Excel to compile, analyze and tabulate data.

  • Use strong analytical skills to review data and information.
  • Quickly learn multiple computer programs.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in adapting to a wide variety of tasks and functions.
  • Demonstrate strong multi-tasking and prioritization skills.
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail and an above average degree of accuracy.
  • Communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally.

Your experience and educational background:

  • Enrolled in a finance, business administration or IT related program.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office software suite (Excel, Word).
  • Previous co-op or relevant work experience in an office environment preferred.
