Job description: Summary:

The Commercial/Residential Construction Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing construction bidding strategies and proposals for our construction projects. The Commercial /Residential Construction Project Manager shall be headquartered at the Commonwealth corporate office in Fond Du Lac, WI, with some periodic travel required as we operate in markets spanning across much of the United States.

General Role & Responsibilities

  • Follow Up on Bid Opportunities as presented
  • Seek out Projects of Company Interest
  • Review and Interpret Bid Documents Necessary to Submit Competitive Bid
  • Attend Prebid Meetings and/or Meet with Project Owners
  • Gather Supplier and Subcontractor Proposals
  • Compile Bid and Review with Upper Management
  • Make sure Bid is Submitted in the Correct Form, Place and Time
  • Once job is Awarded, Work with Subcontractors to Ensure the Best Possible Value and Cost
  • Project Management of all Sizes and Scopes both Commercial and Residential from Handoff to Closeout
  • Periodic Onsite Field Inspections
  • Compile Monthly Pay Requests and Submit Draws by Project
  • Work Closely with Company Estimator
  • Manages CCC Field Employees Labor

Candidate Requirements

  • Proven working experience in construction management
  • Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods
  • Understanding of all facets of the construction process
  • Familiarity with construction management software packages
  • Competent in conflict and crisis management
  • Leadership and management skills
  • Excellent time and project management skills
  • BS degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or related field

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; talk or hear; and use hands to handle, or touch objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
