Job description: Our client is a leader in the Construction space, they are as residential and multi use developer, they are looking for someone looking to grow and prosper long-term.
The Accountant position is responsible for working closely with the Controller and the
Finance team to manage full cycle banking and reconciliations. This includes reconciling the
bank and visa statements to the general ledger; assisting with deferred revenue and revenue
reconciliation; issuing cheques and payment for refunds and vendors; assisting the Controller in
managing cash flow; assisting the Finance Team in creating inventory reporting including
inventory counts; contacting customers to collect payment; and creating process flow documents.
This individual will possess strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and will
be a team player in assisting the Finance Team.
Key Responsibilities:
Key contact for all banking related inquiries including depositing all customer statement balances
- Assisting the Controller with revenue recognition reporting including managing the
deferred revenue schedule
- Assisting the Controller with month-end tasks as assigned, MUST BE OK WITH CLERICAL WORK
- Overseeing the refund/return process including processing refunds and coordinating
customer concerns
- Overseeing the inventory cycle including re-ordering inventory, tracking inventory turns
and coordinating hardware fulfillment by working closely with 3rd party vendors
- Key member in documenting processes to strengthen financial controls
- Assist the Finance team by answering/completing tickets in the Finance Queue
- Other assigned tasks as needed
Qualifications:
- BS degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration – Preference will be given
to individuals who have their CPA or pursuing their CPA designation
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles, fair credit practices and collection
regulations
- Must be proficient in English
- 3-5 years minimum of working Accounting experience
- Must be familiar with Construction Software and have a background in Construction
- Advanced MS Excel Skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
- Self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook
- Must possess excellent written & verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills, ability
to work independently, ability to work with a team, critical thinking, and organization
skills
