Ruskin Construction is a specialized contractor providing design-build, bridge, marine, foundation, railway, and aerial pipeline construction services. We are seeking a self starter that can assist the project team with administrative functions that are, typically, of moderate complexity and scope.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
We are recruiting for a position in Esquimalt, BC. This positions is project specific (2yrs) and is dependent on you receiving security clearance to work on the military base. You will be required to provide high-quality, timely, efficient and effective services, including entering and reporting data, and carrying out document and records management.
KEY AND PERIODIC ACTIVITIES
The duties and responsibilities listed below are representative but not all-inclusive :
Perform administrative duties for job site ensuring all documentation regarding timesheets, equipment usage and all site related documents are maintained as required. Upload files and data to our Construction Platform in real time
Learn, interpret and apply organizational policies, rules and regulations
Perform and maintain daily documentation, filing and typing, provide daily administrative support
Perform general clerical duties; filing and couriers, material ordering, book accommodation and flights for site staff
Basic understandings of Construction HSE systems and requirements, prepare tables and reports in support of Health & Safety activities (e.g. statistics, book training, electronic and hard copy filing)
Perform general clerical duties, carry out document and records management (electronic and hard copy filing, archiving), maintain an organized filing system on site
Perform other duties and responsibilities as required to be done
SKILLS
Construction site office experience
Administrative best practices
Accounting principles
Formal Education and / or Certification(s) and Experience
Minimum : high school diploma with some general accounting courses and three years relevant experience, or the equivalent
Preferred : college diploma or certificate in administration, business management, accounting or related field
ABILITIES
Use applicable computer software and operating systems, Microsoft office, Windows 10, ability to be trained on in-house software
Manage multiple deadlines and priorities
Demonstrate attention to detail

Typical office environment
Some work is located on the construction site; you will be required to wear basic safety equipment
