Black & McDonald is actively seeking a Construction Business Analyst to join the team! If you are looking for the opportunity to apply your knowledge of construction operations to technology process improvement, this position is for you.

The Construction Business Analyst is a new position at Black & McDonald, and will hold a transformational leadership role within the Corporate Services Group’s strategic project and implementations team. The successful candidate will help build the enterprise roadmap toward a vision of technology solutions that support our construction and utility operations groups while maintaining excellent relationships between all internal/external stakeholder groups.

· Communicate and collaborate with the construction teams to identify and understand opportunities for process
improvement.
· Lead strategic change initiatives related to construction process improvement and identify/implement new
technology solutions that support the business – for example, the use of drones to capture project progress.
· Establish and maintain excellent relationships with all stakeholders including Black & McDonald team members,
consultants, subcontractors, vendors, and the community, and ensuring all parties are informed of relevant
information.
· Partner with the construction teams and Project Management/IT stakeholder groups to ensure operational needs
are addressed and solutions are implemented on a regional and/or national scale.
· Develop, communicate, and maintain solutions that drive process improvement and on-site operational
efficiencies.
· Ensure business processes align with Black & McDonald’s HSE Management System and applicable HSE
Legislation.
· Ongoing refinement of current construction business process standards.
· Ensure initiatives are understood and provide end-user support where required.
· Design, develop, and test solutions and while regularly measuring and monitoring effectiveness.
· Coordinate with other internal and/or external functional groups where required.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
· Experience leading/managing a team or initiative related to construction.
· Degree or Diploma in Organization, Change, and/or Project Management, Technology, or a related field.

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
· 5-10 years of experience as a project or program manager in the construction industry.

SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

· Knowledge of construction industry best practices and business process standards.
· Ability to manage and lead large-scale change initiatives.
· Ability to identify problem areas and work collaboratively with stakeholders to determine solutions and implement
best practices.
· Excellent organization and time management skills.
· Thorough understanding of construction best practices, procedures, and techniques.
· Experience with MS Office suite (MS Project).
· Experience using a DSI platform is an asset.
· Experience with JD Edwards or an enterprise resource planning tool is an asset.
· Willing and able to travel within Canada & US
