HyLife Major Projects Division is responsible for project development, design and construction, acting as its own General Contractor. HyLife is currently in the midst of an aggressive build-up of capital assets and structures. Our growing company is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team in the role of Construction Laborer, reporting to the Site Superintendent . This opportunity is located in the community of Neepawa or La Broquerie.

Your days will include:

  • Operate and care for construction equipment and machines.
  • Help equipment operator, carpenters, and other skilled labor when necessary.
  • Clean and prepare construction sites as needed, including removing and properly disposing of debris and waste materials.
  • Follow all safety procedures on the job site and report violations immediately to management.
  • Maintain a safe and clean job site by handling materials and storing them properly, picking up and removing all tools and equipment when not in use, and securing the job site on a daily basis.
  • Load and unload construction supplies from trucks both manually and with the use of equipment.
  • Report incidents immediately to safety director, foreman or HR in accordance with incident reporting procedures established by the company.
  • Travel out of town to work on remote job sites as directed by management.

To succeed in this role, you possess:

  • Strong focus on food safety and workplace safety
  • Knowledge of and demonstrated proficiency in multiple trades functions such as carpentry, drywall, painting, etc. is a requirement, as is knowledge of various tools and equipment
  • Ability to coordinate several simultaneous tasks while maintaining positive attitude and flexible work style
  • Self-motivated with ability to work well independently
  • Punctual, reliable, with an excellent work ethic
  • Excellent attention to detail
