As a Construction Modeling Specialist for our BC Region District office in Richmond, BC you will contribute to our team by:
- Understanding the workflow, setup, and management of construction models.
- Executing the management, detailing, and deliverables of the construction model.
- Working with field management and project management to produce work packages (e.g. pour package, lift drawings).
- Facilitating the trade contractor model-coordination process and reports to project management team, as required.
- Aggregating and keeping multidiscipline construction models current, ensuring that project modeling standards are adhered to.
- Promoting the use of virtual construction tools and processes to project staff.
- Effectively communicating with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues.
- Assisting with research and review of new, innovative, and forward-thinking technology that will positively impact productivity and profitability at the project level. Reviews with virtual design and construction (VDC) manager and assists with the adoption and implementation, as required.
- Modelling the solution provider and profitability culture.
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications
What you will bring to the role:
- Postsecondary degree, diploma, or 2-year certificate in a buildings-industry related discipline (ex:architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC), civil, architectural).
- 2 to 3 years of construction-related experience, including 1 year of Virtual Design and Construction (VDC)-related experience.
- Basic understanding of construction sequences.
- Ability to read and understand 2-D and 3-D construction drawings and specifications.
- Working knowledge and training in 3-D modeling software.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
- Ability to recognize workflow improvements/software and propose suggestions.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Organizational skills, high level of detail orientation and ability to multitask and prioritize conflicting deadlines.
- Strong willingness and ability to self-learn and stay current with changing technology.
