Your Opportunity
Stantec has an active Community Development Group that provides services to the land development industry in Waterloo Region and surrounding areas. We are seeking a Construction Project Coordinator who will be primarily responsible for contract administration and some inspection work for our land development projects. Local (regional) travel is expected.
Your Key Responsibilities
Preparing and assisting with the generation of contract correspondence, documents and specifications.
Establish Quantity take-offs from Civil drawings and the preperation of tenders and quotations
Preparing Letter of Credit submisison packages for Subdivisions and Site Plans
Update and Manage the Maintenance database and work with team members to keep maintenance inspections on track
Coordinating and Communicating with Stantec design teams, contractors, developers, municipalities and the general public
Contracting and awarding works, reviewing invoicing and confirming payments
Assisting with the coordination for work on projects relating to Community Development services.
Field identification of maintenance deficiencies, coordination of the repairs and obtain City approvals.
Preparing quotations, awarding, coordinating, cctv underground sewer inspections, reviewing videos and coordinating repairs and City submissions
Conducting and assisting with site inspection activities
Conducting and assisting with site meetings
General site contract administration duties, including daily and weekly reports, quantities and compiling provisional payment certificates.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal, along with excellent interpersonal and organizational abilities and a willingness to work in a team atmosphere.
Highly organized and demonstrate a flexible approach to work assignments. In addition, previous experience in a computerized office environment using Microsoft Office, Autocad and other Windows based applications would be considered an asset.
Experience in reading and interpreting construction and legal drawings.
Strong organizational skills, along with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and demonstrate a flexible approach to work assignments.
Experience and a willingness to undertake construction reviews is required.
Be a self-starter and motivated individual to successfully complete tasks in a remote/working from home environment.
A valid Ontario Driver’s Permit and your own vehicle are required for this position.
Education and Experience
Graduated from a civil engineering program (University or College) with 5 years of project coordination experience.
This position will primarily work in an office setting however, may require some field work. While we currently find ourselves in the midst of a pandemic, Stantec is prepared with the infrastructure available to support individuals working from home.
