Reporting to our VP, Head of National Grocery Operations, the Construction Project Director oversees multiple, large infrastructure projects. These projects are highly complex and large-scale in nature, spanning multiple functions and lines of business. The incumbent will be required to work very closely with senior leaders within the Operations team as well as Goodfood executives, leaders and suppliers to identify, define interdependencies and linkages between the Goodfood Initiatives and be an enabler to help teams achieve company objectives.
The right candidate will demonstrate a successful track record in leading a full range of construction projects, from initiation to completion. The Construction Project Director will possess excellent technical and negotiation skills.

Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee the definition, planning, coordination, monitoring and delivery of large infrastructure projects
- Defines project scope, requirements, success metrics, project plan and deliverables in collaboration with project stakeholders
- Lead the general contracting process (ie: specifications definition, tendering, contract negotiation, contract awarding, etc)
- Conduct feasibility studies, site reconnaissance, site surveying, project development, conceptual & detailed engineering design
- Ensure the successful delivery of projects within defined scope, specifications, time and budget
- Coordinating project activities with cross discipline team members to make sure that all parties are on track with project requirements
- Report weekly project progress, and influence decision making by senior management
- Proactively identify, evaluate, and manage risks associated with the project
Requirements
- Bachelor’s in construction engineering, civil engineering or similar discipline
- A minimum of 10-15 years of relevant experience overseeing the tendering, design and construction of significant infrastructure projects
- High sense of ownership, urgency, and drive. Exceptional execution discipline – ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and process multiple information sources
- Expert-level knowledge and proven track record of project and change management
- Strong understanding of construction codes as well as health and safety related to construction projects
- Outstanding leadership and organizational skills with the ability to effectively influence others and successfully resolve a variety of client, project and technical issues to bring the project to successful completion
- Resilience and resourcefulness
- Proven executive written and verbal communication skills
- Creative problem solver who is willing to explore outside of their comfort zone
- Flexible and self-motivated team player
- Bilingualism (French – English) is an asset
