ABOUT OUR CLIENT:

A General Contractor in the Lower Mainland that focus on residential and commercial projects between $40M to $70M. This company focuses on culture of the company and the teams within it. They take on a wide variety of projects including LEED ones and they are COR certified.

ABOUT THE OPPORUTINITY:

Construction Safety Officer for a great general contractor which is COR certified, you will be supporting Superintendent in prompting the health and safety culture of the company.

This project is between 8-12 months long and is based in Vernon, BC. It is a commercial renovation project.

This position will be a working CSO – hands on the tools, carpenter, framing and or operator and fixing guard rails where necessary. This project will be a team effort.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

• As the Construction Safety Officer, you will be monitoring the safety of the trades personnel and subcontractors.
• You will be conducting site inspections and identifying hazards and correcting them where necessary.
• You will write up incident reports and making sure all safety documentation is up to date.
• As the CSO you will be conducting tool box talks and administer first aid when necessary.
• Where necessary you will help with small labor duties and site maintenance.

THE REQUIREMENTS:

• CSO certifications
• OFA Level 2 minimum
• Knowledge about WorkSafe BC
• Excellent communication skills

ASSETS:

• Carpentry (Red Seal)
• Operator experience

COMPENSATION:

Hourly: $30 to $35 per hour
