They are hiring a Controller at their corporate head office to provide leadership to the accounting team and play a key role in long-term strategic decision-making processes that affect the organization’s profitability.

As the Controller, you will take on exciting challenges to support and further develop the exceptional culture and sustainable environment they are best known for. This is a broad, hands-on, “lead from the front” role, whereby you will contribute strategically, technically and as a leader to the finance function.

Reporting to the Director of Finance, responsibilities include overseeing accounting operations on a day-to-day basis, managing the month and year end close processes and establishing and monitoring internal controls in accordance with accounting standards and company policies. With a mindset of continuous improvement, you will have the opportunity to Identify opportunities to enhance existing policies, reporting, and compliance processes. The Controller will lead a team of high performing accounting professionals, hiring, coaching and supporting their career development. Together with the team, help lead the implementation of a new ERP system; as one of many new projects and initiatives.

In order to be considered for this role, you will possess the following:

• CPA designation, undergrad in Commerce, Business Administration or similar
• 3-5 years as a Controller with a progressive and stable career track record
• Extensive experience and knowledge of all aspects of corporate accounting and financial management
• Solid knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and applications
• Strong systems expertise, including ERP systems and advanced MS Excel skills.
• Project management skills, detail oriented, strong prioritization and time management skills
• People management experience, coaching and mentoring approach
• Strong communication skills, judgement and decision-making abilities, high level of critical and logical thinking and analysis
