Job Summary
The Coordinator, Building Trades Construction, provides guidance, planning, constructability input and quality assurance for project construction on scaffold, insulation, carpentry or related cross-functional activities required to safely construct facilities that meet regulatory, design, cost and schedule deliverables.
Accountabilities
- Develop trade specific project construction job plans and provide input to schedule as well as integrate plans with other construction disciplines to form total end to end project construction plan on construction execution ranging from $10k to $2M.
- Coordinate construction activities between contractors, Projects, Operations and Maintenance.
- Support Sherritt’s objectives to deliver zero harm to employees, the environment, and neighboring communities by providing comprehensive job planning and execution for all site project construction work.
- Improves construction labor productivity through effective planning of resources, parts, material, and equipment access.
- Coordinate trade specific project construction activities (road closures, incident investigation, receiving, resourcing and liaison with outside parties during construction).
- Guide and coordinate construction execution, applying construction manual and quality plans to ensure that project installations meet designed regulatory requirements for building code installation and scaffold management.
Qualifications and Skills
- Journeyperson Insulator and Certified Scaffold Installer.
- 10+ years of experience in construction projects as a scaffold installer or in a scaffold installation leadership position
- 5+ years of experience in insulation, chemical / petrochemical processing and/or construction trade planning and technical leadership. Carpentry experience is an asset.
- Demonstrated written and verbal communications skills.
- Skillset to understand engineering documents, such as P&IDs, SLDs, General arrangement drawings, piping isometrics and similar drawings with physical assets is preferred.
