Novolex’s De Luxe Packaging brand, has over 70 years of experience. Our mission is to provide our current customer base and future customers a diverse range of paper and non-paper product lines and capabilities. De Luxe’s products currently have a strong foothold in foodservice, dairy, confectionery, industrial and medical packaging. Our advanced paper conversion capability includes waxing, foil, lamination, pinch bottom bags and industrial packaging. Additionally our non-paper manufacturing and converting capabilities include multi-layer laminations; composite coating; lamination; and unsupported aluminum foil processing and other capabilities.

We are looking for someone who will participate in the improvement of internal processes and who will be responsible for costing, general ledger including the standard cost system.

Responsibilities
o Maintains the integrity of the standard cost system. Responsible for the routine for the compilation of manufacturing cost items, including payroll, inventory accounting, factory labor allocation, verifying actual costs and calculating variances;
o Assistance in setting up hourly rates for the machine;
o Leads the process of updating standard costs and manages the cumulative end-of-year standard costs;
o Explains the differences in the use of materials;
o Participate in the management of the monthly closing and prepare the journal entries if necessary;
o Prepares detailed account reconciliations;
o Work on special projects and perform tasks as needed;
o Deals with inventory adjustments and surveys;
o Analyze the monthly gap;
o In charge of year-end inventories, number of cycles and obsolete inventory (MYL-Toronto)
o All other related tasks. Skills and abilities
o Ability to communicate in French;
o Advanced English;
o Very good ability to work in a team;
o Demonstrate professionalism, organization, monitoring / rigor;
o Good sense of initiative;

Requirements
o Hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent experience deemed relevant
o Possess the CPA accounting designation (an asset)
o Good knowledge of accounting standards
o Good analytical and critical thinking skills
o Advanced knowledge of the Office suite (Excel)
o Experience in the manufacturing field (required)
o Mastery of the BAAN system (an asset)
