Job description: Are you a skilled Cost Accounting Manager with a strong background in project-based accounting, manufacturing industry experience, and standard costing expertise? Position Overview:

As a Cost Accounting Manager, you will play a pivotal role in our finance department, reporting directly to the Plant Controller. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of the cost accounting processes, contributing to the financial success of all projects and products. This is a 100% on-site position, providing an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic and stable organization.

Key Responsibilities:

– Project Billing: Manage project-based accounting, ensuring accurate and timely billing to clients.

– Bill of Materials Analysis: Analyze bill of materials to identify cost-saving opportunities and ensure accurate product costing.

– Purchase Price Variances: Calculate and analyze purchase price variances to improve cost control and efficiency.

– Margins and Absorption Product MIS: Monitor and report on margins and absorption product MIS to support strategic decision-making.

– Manufacturing Variances: Analyze and investigate various manufacturing variances, providing insights for process improvement.

– Customer Quotes: Collaborate with project managers and production teams to prepare accurate customer quotes.

– Budgeting and Forecasting: Contribute to the budgeting and forecasting processes to support financial planning and control.

– Month-End and Year-End: Support the plant controller with month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

– Product Profitability Analysis: Analyze product profitability to identify opportunities for cost optimization.

– Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory, optimizing inventory turnover and minimizing carrying costs.

Qualifications:

– Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA designation preferred).

– 5+ years of experience in cost accounting within the manufacturing industry.

– Strong knowledge of standard costing methods and principles.

– Project-based accounting experience is required.

– Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

– Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.

– Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

– Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and precision.
