As the Crop Inputs Manager, you will be responsible for managing the development and operation of a profitable crop inputs business. This position will report to the General Manager and works closely with Customer Service Representatives and the facility staff to ensure that business is running efficiently. Your effective leadership skills will provide direction to sales and operational staff in the implementation and delivery of annual and seasonal plans.
Your day to day activities will include:
- Growing the volume of the crop inputs business with existing customers and proactively seeking out new business opportunities;
- A hands on approach to the safe and efficient operation of the Chemical and Fertilizer Sheds;
- Promoting P&H’s service programs;
- Monitoring market developments and updates to determine competitive price offerings;
- Developing annual plans & budgets;
- Coaching & mentoring customer service representatives;
- Management and application of credit and collection programs
The successful candidate should enter the position with the following qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years in a role managing or related to the sales of crop inputs;
- Diploma or Degree in business, agriculture or equivalent experience considered;
- Certified Crop Advisor, P. Ag., or related designation would be an asset;
- 1 -2 years’ experience in a supervisory role;
- Thorough knowledge of the crop input and grain business;
- Working knowledge of profit and loss statements;
- Ability to network and build relationships while providing excellent customer service.
