NOTE: This position will commence on January 3, 2024. This is a temporary position ending on or before June 2025 with the possibility of extension.
NOTE: This position is an on-campus only role working in our NAIT Main campus bookstore warehouse and sales floor. The successful candidate must have availability for varied shift times throughout the year to support business needs.

We are more than just a bookstore, and not only will you receive and process products coming through our warehouse, you will also provide digital course material support and assist in sales floor service.
This position includes a variety of shifts flexing between the hours of 8am and 5pm, this may also include some evenings. The successful candidate is expected to represent NAIT in a positive, professional manner and help us toward reaching strategic institutional goals. Key Responsibilities:
- Actively engage customers by offering support, suggesting items for purchase, answering questions, and resolving concerns in a friendly manner
- Receiving, counting, tagging, and organizing inventory including overstock and customer orders, preparing appropriate documentation and merchandise for sale
- Ensure paperwork for processing to Finance is timely and accurate
- Replenish floor stock and work with Team Leads to ensure product continues to flow through the warehouse in a timely manner
- Consistent updating of locations for all course materials
- Process returns, disposals, and work with the Buying team on timely movement of product onto the salesfloor
- Preparing product for shelving, shrink wrapping, creating shelf labels and ensuring accuracy in pricing
- Enact loss-prevention strategies in order to support a secure shopping environment
Skills & Abilities:
- Detail orientated and an agile learner with the ability to retain product knowledge and confidently assist couriers, staff, and customers
- Show initiative, excellent skills in customer service, communication (including phone etiquette), teamwork and a creative open mind
- Flexibility with scheduling, including the ability to work increased hours during peak periods and some evening and weekend shifts
- A strong working knowledge of the Microsoft office suite and previous experience with a retail inventory management system
Qualifications:
- The successful candidate should have experience in a warehouse environment, be detail oriented and organized
- Experience with a pallet jack is an asset
- Confidence in Microsoft office suite is a must as our staff use this on a daily basis
- Completion of grade 12 or have an equivalent combination of experience and education related to the role
- A driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle would be an asset
- Must be able to lift to 50 lbs, this job requires standing, bending and moving product consistently
Remuneration: $24,634.27 – $32,705.71 (based on a 29 per hour work week) plus a comprehensive benefits package. (Classification – Customer Service Rep I).
This position is covered by the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE) Collective Agreement.
