About the Opportunity
Under the direction of the HIS IM/IT Business Operations Manager, the Data Integrity Officer (DIO) is responsible for the monitoring and auditing of the patient information collected during the registration/admission process. The Data Integrity Officer is also responsible for auditing, investigating, and correcting errors reported by stakeholders internal and external to HIS. The Data Integrity Officer is also responsible generating reports and the compiling statistics related to compliance with data standards, communicating findings of audits directly to the Managers of clinical areas and HIS, and performing follow-up audits if required. Based on the results of audits, the Data Integrity Officer develops and provides continuous learning opportunities for registration/admitting staff. The Data Integrity Officer is a resource on registration and admitting processes for NSHA staff working within these functional areas. The Data Integrity Officer actively solicits feedback and maintains collaborative relationships with customers.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Grade XII plus graduation from an approved Health Information Management Program or one year secretarial or office administration course
- Minimum two years experience using hospital admission, discharge, and transfer system
- Medical Terminology preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of Department of Health/Canadian Institute of Health Information requirements an asset
- Proficiency of computer applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Power Point)
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent analytical skills
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent organizational skills
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours
- Two (2) Permanent Full-time Positions; 75 Hours Bi-weekly

Compensation and Incentives
$20.97 – $23.83 Hourly
