Job description: This is a full-time, permanent position, working 75 hours bi-weekly.

The Agriculture Branch is responsible for implementing the government’s Agriculture Policy to promote and develop the production, processing, and marketing of food, fodder and fibre grown in the Yukon to increase the territory’s food sovereignty.
Reporting to the Assistant Deputy Minister of Sustainable Resources, this position is responsible for directing and managing the development and delivery of agricultural programs and services to support the development and maintenance of an economically viable and self-supporting agriculture industry in Yukon. This position provides support to the Minister, Deputy Minister and Assistant Deputy Ministers; and is a key member of the division and departmental senior management teams.

Essential Qualifications

- Degree in Agriculture, or other degree related to Natural Resource Management
- Considerable experience managing resources (people and financial), and directing multi-year programs and projects in a public sector setting
- Considerable experience building, facilitating and managing stakeholder relations
- Experience working with all levels of government (internal and external), including F/P/T, First Nations and Municipalities
- Experience working in agriculture, agri-business, agri-food or agriculture policy and program development roles is an asset
