Job description: We’re growing!! And looking for a passionate, driven and enthusiastic candidate to join our team for the position of Director, Design and Construction. This role will provide expertise for the full range of activities required to successfully manage complex multi-residential, retail, and commercial developments and is located at our Head Office in Guelph, Ontario.

As a Director, Design and Construction you will work with the developer to create detailed construction plans and specifications, and work with the contractors to complete projects through turnover to the tenant. This position is also responsible for strategic planning, budgeting, identifying and analyzing cost saving opportunities, and supervising the New Develop project management team.
What we look for:
- Experience managing the drawing development process for building permit plans and construction plans.
- Extensive experience with all aspects of real estate development and construction management
- Experience in financial analysis; project cost control and path scheduling.
- Familiar with relevant regulatory requirements (including zoning, municipal approval processes, building codes, safety standards, fire safety standards and environmental regulations).
- Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and adapt to changing conditions and tight deadlines while maintaining strong communication and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to read, understand, and apply standard documents affecting real estate projects (including contracts, project charters, surveys, construction, and other technical drawings)
- Work independently as well as with a team.
- Be proactive with good problem solving skills, judgment and innovation.
- Work a flexible schedule and travel.
Experience and Education:
- Seven to ten years’ experience in new development construction, residential or commercial property management, or other related industry.
- Minimum five years’ experience in a Sr. Project Manager role, overseeing a team of construction professionals
- Certified Project Management Associate (CPMA) or other related designation an asset.
- A valid driver’s license required.
