Reporting the VP, Finance, The Director, Finance is responsible for leading the company’s financial reporting team, with an emphasis on reporting to our shareholder, accounting policy, and financial statement preparation.

You’re great at:

Acting as the main point of contact for our shareholder, including effective communication & relationship management

Demonstrating a keen grasp of the underlying business drivers for our property & casualty insurance companies’ financial results and position, communicating critical analysis to senior leadership and other stakeholders

Supporting the team’s continued efforts around IFRS-17 and developing our new Enterprise Data Lake House

Ensuring timely and efficient delivery of our financial reporting, accounting consolidations, and full financial statement preparation, including note disclosures; meeting key deadlines

Fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration

You have:

CPA designation or equivalent

7+ years of progressive experience in accounting or other related discipline

3 years of managerial experience

3 years experience working with a public accounting firm

Thorough working knowledge of insurance accounting, including premiums, losses, reinsurance and investments

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; Advanced knowledge of spreadsheet software (i.e. Excel); Working knowledge of accounting/insurance related systems and Business Intelligence tools
