Reporting to the Senior Advisor and Vice President of Finance Operations, you will lead the Corporate Finance data and analytics program to enable its transformation strategy to deliver business value through data driven insights. You will foster close collaborative partnerships with Systems and Process Excellence teams in Finance, with Data & Advanced Analytics and Enterprise Architecture teams in Data & Technology, and with counterpart data teams in peer Finance groups to understand business needs and how to apply data and analytical techniques to increase scale and operational efficiency, enhance self-service capabilities and improve scalability.

As a member of this team, you will be responsible for:

  • Enabling the realization of Corporate Finance strategic objectives and business value through the development of long-range data strategy, roadmap and implementation plan in alignment with strategies and roadmaps of Finance Systems, Data & Advanced Analytics and Enterprise Architecture
  • Enabling self-serve analytical capability and literacy across Corporate Finance and key Finance data consumers
  • Delivering data and analytics tools and solutions to Corporate Finance and its data consumers in alignment with their business needs and priorities, engaging resources as needed from Data & Advanced Analytics, Enterprise Architecture and peer business data teams
  • Developing, deploying and operationalizing relevant data science applications and supporting tools and processes
  • Supporting data science applications, integrated tools/processes, security, performance monitoring, change management, and process adjustments during implementation
  • Creating analytical models, conducting training, validating, testing, reconciling and data integrity maintenance
  • Delivering operational and service excellence, especially in support of Corporate Finance operational and calendar-driven priorities
  • Maintaining data platform risk management, controls and compliance
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with business and technology leadership stakeholders
  • Providing vision and planning to the team by drawing on the understanding of business and technology objectives, available technology functionality, business impact and resource capacity
  • Mobilizing resources to create rapid prototypes to demonstrate art of the possible in context of business needs
  • Effectively translating and communicating complex concepts into simplified business terms to stakeholders
  • Fostering an environment that encourages innovation, continuous improvement and growth
  • Remaining engaged with Data & Advanced Analytics, Enterprise Architecture and Data community of practice to contribute to and benefit from emerging data analytics technologies and techniques in their application to Finance use cases and deployment opportunities
  • Establishing trusted partner relationships with data counterparts across peer Finance groups

To succeed in this role, you have:

  • An Undergraduate or Graduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics or any other quantitative field
  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience working in a data science environment
  • Practical experience developing and implementing advanced data analytics and building an analytics practice
  • Proficiency in working with financial data and related alternative datasets
  • Proficiency in data science tools such as R and Python, and experience with implementing cloud based big data and analytics platforms
  • The ability to build relationships and influence across a diverse group of stakeholders (including C-level) across different enterprise units
  • Experience facilitating sessions, helping participants reach decisions and accomplish goals
  • Polished communication and presentation skills. Experience in presenting to and communicating with senior business and technology leaders
  • Experience with Machine Learning Frameworks would be an asset, such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Spark MLib, Theano or Caffee
  • Exposure to data modeling, data architecture, data engineering, data analysis and data science (familiarity with ETL tools, data warehousing and big data architecture and cloud constructs)
  • Experience within the Pension Sector would be an asset
  • A passion around learning new technologies and analytical techniques with a proven track record
