As our Director of Finance, you’ll have the opportunity to advance Green City Developments’ mission of continuous innovation and creativity within the high-end multi-unit and community residential eco-friendly development space. An attainable goal that can be achieved with your passion for financial accuracy, new home construction, and contributing to our ability to deliver the best possible range of products for homebuyers and a solid return for our investors and stakeholders. This position will report directly to the President.

You will lead day-to-day accounting functions while mentoring a growing accounting team. Focused on overseeing timely and accurate financial planning and reporting, you’ll be an integral part of our finance leadership team as we continue to scale and grow our business. With your first-rate interpersonal skills, you’ll build and strengthen our critical relationship with investors, lenders and financial institutions.

Key Functions and Duties:

  • Liaise closely with the President and Company Investors.
  • Forge strong relationships with banks and lending institutions to leverage financing for Green City Development Group Inc.
  • Assist in landing new investors
  • Work closely with the President to establish the overall budget as well as departmental and developmental project budgets.
  • Direct Proformas for land acquisitions and development, ensuring all due diligence is completed and properly assessed.
  • Manage financial staff including; Controller, Accountant and Cost Accountant
  • Ad-hoc reporting and support for the development and construction teams as necessary.
  • Work with lenders to ensure the company has a positive cash flow.
  • Assist In strengthening and maintaining A/P and A/R processes
  • Monitor project progress to ensure terms are followed

Experience & Education

The successful candidate will possess a University degree in Business/Accounting and a professional accounting designation (CPA, CA); experience leading a finance team, liaising with construction industry lenders and investors and liaising directly with external audit firms; and superior communication, interpersonal and organizational skills with a strong ability to resolve issues and is an agile and persuasive communicator. Proficiency with MS Office and advanced Excel skills are a must. Working knowledge of Mandarin is a must.
