Job description: The Bay Area Restoration Council (BARC) is offering two temporary part-time positions starting in April or May 2017. Schedule will vary, but will generally be three days/week for six weeks. Some evening and weekend work will be required.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The successful candidates will assist with the delivery of BARC’s school programs. They will also attend events such as the Children’s Water Festival and Earth Day Tree Planting Festival. This position is perfect for those with experience and desire to work with children.

ELIGIBILITY:

This position is open to anyone that meets the listed qualifications.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• To engage youth in programs related to the cleanup of Hamilton Harbour and its watershed

• Set up and attend BARC display booth at events and festivals as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience working with children

• A valid driver’s license and regular access to a vehicle

• Passion for environmental issues

· Demonstrated ability to work without supervision

· Experience/interest in gardening an asset

WORKING CONDITIONS:

· Weekdays will be spent at off-site locations

· Police check will be required (paid by BARC)

RATE OF PAY:

$14 per hour, approximately 21 hours per week for six weeks
