The rural location provides numerous options to get outside and enjoy nearby parks, lakes, rivers, and streams for activities like fishing, camping, boating, and water skiing. In keeping with Alberta Health Services Mission Statement and Values, and as an integral member of the Environmental Services Team, the Environmental Services Worker I (ESI) is responsible for routine cleaning, collection of general waste and upkeep of the facility as well as all detailed or special cleanings in areas such as operating rooms, pharmacy, etc. Must follow Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) standards. The ESI is responsible for performing other related duties as required. The ESI daily routines and approaches at work are to produce a clean, safe, comfortable environment for patients, resident, visitors and staff. The ESI must maintain the highest level of confidentiality and be respectful and compassionate in all interactions. The ESI participates in the training/orientation of new staff and performs other duties as required. These tasks are to be completed with minimal supervision, in a busy and fast paced environment.
Description:
As an Environmental I, you will be responsible for performing a variety of routine tasks associated with the cleaning and disinfecting of clinical and non-clinical healthcare environments. Your typical duties may include sweeping, mopping and vacuuming, restocking supplies in bathroom facilities and, stripping linen and remaking beds. This includes replenishing cleaning supplies and linens and identifying and reporting potential hazards to your Working Leader.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent. Knowledge and operation of a computer including Microsoft Office. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time and perform repetitive movements for the duration of your shift. Physically capable to lift, push and pull up to 22 lbs of force. Additional Required Qualifications:
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English. Requires moderate to heavy physical exertion of which may include repetitive and/or long periods of standing, walking, bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, grasping, pushing, pulling, or lifting. Required to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) for long periods of time. (i.e.: Face Mask, Eye Protection, Gloves, Gowns, etc.). Preferred Qualifications:
Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Able to work holidays/weekends and a variety of shift times. Basic computer skills. Previous cleaning experience Ability to clean in isolation areas (ED, OR, ICU, NICU, etc.). WHMIS certificate.
