This role presents an opportunity for hands-on growth & development across many sustainability aspects, including sustainable tech, climate change mitigation, renewable energy, energy efficiency, water conservation, packaging, circular economy, regenerative agriculture, and others, all in the context of a global organization. Making an impact to improve our world is at the center of this role.
As a member of our team, you will be responsible for:
- Working collaboratively with our plants and sustainability team members to implement innovative technologies and sustainable manufacturing approaches
- Researching best practices in sustainable engineering & design for industrial/manufacturing applications
- Leading the improvement of our sustainability data management activities in BEST (Bimbo Environmental Sustainability Tool)
- Analyzing performance data to generate ideas for more efficient operation
- Contributing to training presentations and guidance documents
- Improving and updating environmental compliance documentation and EMS (Environmental Management System)
About The Team
Bimbo Canada’s sustainability team works with a connected group of over 30 sustainability experts globally within the Grupo Bimbo family of companies. We are united by a unique objective: to find innovative and sustainable approaches to manufacturing & engineering challenges. The team also looks after aspects of Corporate Social Responsibility as well as Diversity, Equity and Belonging. In addition, you will work collaboratively with most functions at the Canadian firm, including production, finance, marketing, continuous improvement & innovation, procurement, and engineering.
Experience and Qualifications
· Knowledge and understanding of current environmental sustainability topics (e.g. Canada-wide environmental regulations, green energy technologies, GHG emissions accounting, zero-waste and circular economy in manufacturing, energy / water conservation, and others)
· 1 to 3 years of related experience
o Experience in a sustainability role in a manufacturing setting is an asset
o Experience with project financing is an asset
· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field
o P.Eng. license, master’s degree in a related field, or environment/energy-related certifications considered an asset
· Superior skills and interest in Excel data analysis
· Demonstrated proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint & Outlook

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and French required
