Job description: ESTIMATOR
We are looking for an experienced estimator with construction experience to prepare cost estimates for Industrial, Commercial and Institutional Roofing & Sheet Metal Projects.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create an accurate Bid File in accordance with the tender submission
- Attend site meetings to obtain field observations, measurements and photos.
- Obtain pricing from suppliers, sub-contractors and incorporate in estimate
- Prepare take-offs from construction specification where applicable
- Provide technical support to field staff.
- Identify market opportunities
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum Post-Secondary Education in related industry (Architectural, Civil Engineering Construction Project Management)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a related industry
- Self-motivated, proven ability with scheduling and planning
- Proficiency in computer software applications (MS Office, MS Project, Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships using diplomacy and tact with Owners/Clients, Consultants & Engineers.
- Processes a strong attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure generated by short deadlines and flexibility in hours to meet deadlines.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal
- Roofing Materials or related industry knowledge
- Health & Safety Knowledge
