The Executive Housekeeper is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness are achieved and maintained in the housekeeping department while overseeing the day to day operation of the housekeeping staff including room attendants, laundry and custodial staff.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Achieving the objectives and operational goals set out for the housekeeping and laundry departments through innovative operations planning and budgeting.
- Ensuring all housekeeping and laundry employees are performing according to set hotel service standards and providing guidance and direction to the Assistant Executive Housekeepers and Supervisors.
- Overseeing and evaluating the hotel’s cleaning schedules for efficiency and to ensure that overall guest satisfaction is assured.
- Performing daily housekeeping standards and janitorial inspections while ensuring any and all areas of concern are addressed in a timely manner.
- Creation and administration of the housekeeping department’s operational budget and maintaining proper inventory control to ensure proper materials are available to our staff and guests at all times.
- Responding to specific guest concerns or relating to housekeeping and/or lost and found issues while ensuring all special request and needs of guests and VIPs are communicated to and handled in the proper fashion by all housekeeping department staff.
- Ensuring proper department processes are adhered to relating to new employee training, ongoing supervision, staff development and department communications.
- Other responsibilities as required.
Desired Qualifications:
- A minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years of experience within the Hotel industry in an Executive Housekeeping level position within a 4-star + high volume hotel.
- Completion of a hospitality management and/or business management diploma.
- A sound grasp of business principals, time-management, organization expectations, and staff management practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills complemented by team building and motivating abilities.
- Strong organizational and computer skills with experience utilizing MS Office programs and payroll and scheduling software.
Terms of Employment:
- This is a full time position that requires flexible availability Monday through Sunday, including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
- This is a salaried position that depends on experience and qualifications.
- Must be able to pass a basic security clearance.
