Reporting to the General Manager, as Facility Manager, you will:
- Supervise and coordinate receiving and incoming loading product railcars and trucks.
- Maximize efficiency and minimize overtime and demurrage costs by effectively allocating human and locomotive resources.
- Supervise and coordinate shipping and out loading product by truck to retail distribution and farm locations.
- Possess a familiarity with computer-controlled operations that enables you to act in an operator capacity when required.
- Collaborate with the Repairs and Maintenance department to guide, coordinate and assist with required.
- Work with the compost buyer and marketer to understand and implement service goals.
- Assist the Division Manager to plan and execute the annual budget.
- Effectively ensure compliance with corporate safety, health and environmental policies and procedures.
- Recruit, train and evaluate operations staff to achieve and maintain operational efficiency while ensuring high degree of customer service and satisfaction.
- Optimize the use of physical storage facilities for maximum financial return.
- Monitor all controllable expenses to maximize profitability of the facility. Responsible for inventory control and accuracy.
- Effectively retain customer and employee loyalty by maintaining professional integrity and an exceptional quality of service.
What the successful candidate will bring:
- Secondary education with 3+ years of supervisory/management experience in a related industry.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & Outlook).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Valid class 5 driver’ s license and a favorable bond record.
- Familiarity and working knowledge of agriculture or farming is an asset.
