The Feed Program Coordinator is responsible for the development and creation of feed plans, currently within an excel format. The successful candidate with be expected to lead the transition from excel format to implementing the data entry within our new platform, Aeros Live Software suite. He or she will complete set up of system fundamentals such as feed profiles, medication profiles, locations, farms, bins in collaboration with the nutrition, sales and order desk teams. The Feed Program Coordinator is responsible for building customer feed plans across various livestock species being fed and for ensuring organizational objectives in the areas of production planning, dispatch efficiency and customer satisfaction are met.

Your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Become Aeros Live subject matter expert (system set up / configuration / troubleshooting / flock creation / etc.)
  • In cooperation with the nutrition and sales teams, set up appropriate growth curves by species / genetic strain / target weight in the Aeros Live Animal Management system
  • In collaboration with nutrition, sales and purchasing teams, set up the established recommended medication shuttle programs within the Aeros Live Animal Management system for use in feed plans
  • Work collaboratively with accounts receivable and plant order desk teams to manage set up of customer accounts, ship to information (barns / bins) and flock codes to maintain consistency across systems and reporting platforms
  • Responsible for set up of all feed plans for upcoming flock placements (pullet, layer, breeder, turkey, broiler) based upon placement and requested feed program / medication information received from sales specialists (or customers).
  • Sensitivity to success metrics in plan creation – longer runs of like feeds / medications / textures, delivery geography and trucking efficiency, truck loading constraints, customer requests, flock history or experience, location of manufacture, minimizing same day orders, feed run outs / end of flock issues
  • Lead investigation of potential use of Aeros Live in other species (dairy, beef, hog) and eventual implementation
  • Support order desk teams in utilizing feed inventory information returned by delivery team / customers / sales group as it impacts timing of future deliveries

The successful candidate should enter the position with the following qualifications:

  • Agriculture Diploma from college or university or 3 years relevant experience.
  • Strong background in poultry production and animal husbandry.
  • A solid understanding of delivery logistics and production planning constraints.
  • Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
  • High level of integrity, confidentially, and accountability.
  • Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills.
  • An ability to lead change within an organization.
  • A demonstrated willingness to continually learn new skills and extend the learning to application which benefits the organization.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly MS Office.
  • On call for after-hours production related and customer service emergencies only.
