Job description: Dow has an exciting opportunity for a Feedstocks and Energy Business Finance Analyst within the Canadian Hydrocarbons Business. This position is located in Calgary, Alberta. The Canadian Feedstocks and Energy business is a commercial organization within Dow’s Hydrocarbons portfolio located in Calgary, Alberta. The business provides superior value creation by leveraging the plentiful, globally competitive, stable supply of ethane and natural gas to safely maximize the production of low-cost ethylene in a low risk, politically stable environment and positions the polyethylene business to derive maximum profitability.

The Business Finance Analyst is a strategic role within the Canadian Feedstocks and Energy business with responsibility for the financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting for the region. This role reports to the President of Dow Canada.

Specific Responsibilities

Participate as a core team member in the development and evaluation of alternative business strategies.

Analyze and manage Business Opportunity Plans and Capital Authorization Requests and authorization process.

Provide economic analysis of capital projects, business improvement projects, and cost savings projects.

Prepare the financial forecasts, including Long Term Hydrocarbon Values (LTHVs), for the Canadian Feedstocks and Energy and Olefins businesses.

Prepare weekly business reports on plant operations and cost positions to business leadership.

Provide financial analysis of contracts and coordinate the contract authorization and approval process.

Prepare regular business scorecards and track performance towards targets.

Assist in market fundamentals research, analysis, and modelling.

Provide financial counsel to the Canadian Commercial Feedstocks and Olefins teams.

Required Qualifications

A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or technical discipline is required; Engineering is preferred.

A minimum of 5 years of commercial or technical experience is required.

Demonstrated proficiency in data analysis and strong proficiency in Excel is required.

Economic evaluation and financial modelling experience is required.

Preferred Qualifications

A MBA or CFA is preferred.
