Role: Finance Analyst, Product & Marketing, Starbucks Coffee Canada – 18-Month Time Limited Assignment

Reports To: Finance Director, Starbucks Coffee Canada

Location: Toronto, Canada

JOB SUMMARY

As a Finance Analyst you will assist in achieving the company’s goals by providing financial leadership to the Product & Marketing team. This includes planning and forecasting, monitoring growth drivers as well as analytical and strategic support for new growth initiatives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with Product and Marketing leaders to evaluate the merits of growth initiatives. Own financial modeling for the Food category to help shape recommendations and decisions. Projects can include new product launches, promotion analysis, investing capital to support business growth, among others.
  • Lead the quarterly forecasting and annual planning processes for the Food category team.
  • Own the Marketing budget process, working with cross-functional partners to efficiently manage spend while maximizing sales growth.
  • Own the daily sales forecasting process for the Canada Business Unit, outlining what success looks like each month by understanding key overlaps and highlighting upcoming programming and activity.
  • Actively participate as a thought partner in cross-functional projects and assist in the Strategic Planning process, providing analytical support for long-term business strategies.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with colleagues based in our Seattle office, leveraging best practices to enhance our Canadian business.

Qualifications

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree (business, finance or accounting specialization preferred).
  • 1-3 years of financial analytical and planning experience.
  • Excellent analytical and financial modeling skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint skills.
  • Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
