Job Description

Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Finance Business Partner, Technology will act as a key interface between the business, the Finance team and the Technology teams. He/She will ensure business requirements and finance requirements translate into finance system requirements and will ensure these finance system requirements are addressed by the Technology roadmap and taken into account in the project management processes.

The Finance Business Partner will work hand in hand with the technology and product teams to detail out the business requirements of different initiatives, test the solutions, and review impacts on financial and operational processes. The Partner will also oversee all key activities of the change management process to ensure the adoption of new processes and solutions by the Finance and Technology teams, as well as the business..

Responsibilities

Translating business and finance requirements (40%)

● Review and analyse the current Finance processes and system challenges and work with the Technology product team to address the challenges and provide solutions;

● Remain updated on new business and finance initiatives and outline the implications for our Finance systems, in a multi legal entity environment;

● Challenge and validate the cross departmental processes that will result in new processes for finance team;

● Conduct business requirement analysis given the existing ERP systems and provide opportunities for improvements and efficiency gains;

● Work in collaboration with the Corporate Controller and Finance Team to ensure that our internal financial controls are in conformity with the policies and procedures as established by the company,

● Provide recommendations to ensure the effectiveness and continuous improvement of our internal financial controls and processes.

Partnering with the Technology team to address system requirements (30%)

● Act as the Technology partner to provide business requirements and assist in problem solving exercises to formalize internal processes and functional requirements of our systems;

● Work in collaboration with Product Managers to provide business solutions to the identified requirements;

● Collaborate with the technology team to define and monitor UAT (User Acceptance Test) in releasing new system features

Manage change (30%)

● Identify the necessary knowledge and produce documentation on how to define and execute processes for financial transactions within the existing ERP systems

● Ensure continuous communication and updates on new features and changes to processes with the relevant stakeholders;

● Coach and conduct change management activities and exercises within the Finance team on any new processes introduced to accounting team, following new system releases or process changes;

● Measure and analyze the success of the implemented changes on the department and provide feedback to technology product team for further improvements

Qualifications

● Bachelor’s degree in Commerce required

● A minimum of 5-8 years of experience working with both Finance and Technology teams

● Strong understanding of execution processes on ERP systems in general, and on SAP in particular

● Solid understanding of accounting and financial controlling processes and practices; CPA designation an asset

● Track record of driving continuous improvement of finance operations

● Experience in international retail, online retail specifically, a plus

● Strong written and verbal communication skills (English and French) critical
