JOB OVERVIEW
Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for results driven finance and accounting professionals to join our fast paced HR & Pay Support team in the role of Finance Clerk.

The Finance Clerk is responsible for processing end to end payroll transactions. The ability to work under tight timelines and adapt to changing priorities is essential. This is an opportunity to be a part of the greater Human Resources team.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Prepare and process payroll and/or time-reporting data and associated forms in accordance with established policies, procedures, and collective agreements.
  • Maintain and administer databases for ensuring proper documentation is readily available for annual audits. Provide advice and assistance on matters related to payroll.
  • Participate in the design, development and testing of new or revised payroll systems.

EDUCATION

  • College diploma or certificate in Human Resources or Business Administration
  • Payroll designation an asset

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1-3 years of payroll experience;
  • Experience working with SAP an asset;
  • Experience as a HR Assistant or HR Generalist an asset;
  • Experience working in a unionized environment would be considered an asset;
  • Proficiency in Word and Excel;
  • Change resilient in an agile work environment;
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently;
  • Ability to communicate effectively, possess excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Ability to quickly understand business processes and navigate organization and support systems to deliver results to client groups;
  • Able to provide client focused service in a high-volume environment
