The Regional District of Mount Waddington (RDMW) is seeking an experienced full time Finance Clerk.

Reporting to the Treasurer, the Finance Clerk is responsible for the day-to-day functions of the finance department.

Applicants must have Grade 12 with a minimum of 3 years accounting and bookkeeping experience with a government or related organization, or an acceptable combination of education and experience. Preferred competencies include familiarity with the accrual basis for recording revenues and expenses under the principles of fund accounting in a local government operation and experience with payroll preparation. Applicants should have excellent written and verbal communication skills, a high level of proficiency with accounting software, MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and the Internet. Experience with local government and Vadim Software is an asset. A Criminal Record check will be required.

The Regional District offers an attractive salary together with a comprehensive range of benefits including pension, extended medical, travel allowance for out of area medical appointments, etc. This is a unionized position with USW Local 1-1937. Hours of work are Monday-Friday, 35 hours per week and is based out of the Regional District office in Port McNeill.
