Location: Saint-Jean
Salary: $120K to $150K per year

Our client, located in Saint-Jean, invites a Finance Director to join their administration department team.

As a Finance Director you are responsible for the financial management of a division through the administration of accounting systems, preparation of reports, and maintenance of accounting records. You are a proactive individual that is the main support to the President and other executive team. Your main challenge will be to ensure accuracy and implementation of processes and streamlining and automated reports.

Reporting directly to the President your responsibilities, among others, will be to:

– Provide support to the president in the accomplishment of all his responsibilities
– Recommend and participate in the implementation of improvement measures where necessary (this includes being a key participant in computer system troubleshooting, improvements and conversions)
– Review the monthly and annual financial statements and supporting schedules to be submitted to the corporate accounting team
– Control accuracy of inventory volume and costing
– Prepare payables, receivable and reporting
– Provide meaningful analysis of both direct and indirect production costs to management
– Provide analysis of regular operating costs on a monthly basis
– Provide a variety of ad-hoc financial reports, as requested
– Do government filings, as required
– Handle year-end audit

Qualification Criteria:

– Accounting designation such as a CA or CMA and at least five years’ experience in a similar role; experience in a manufacturing environment would be an asset
– Must be attentive to details, have a strong ability to work in a fast-paced environment
– Must have an analytical mind, be a self-starter and have the ability to function with minimal supervision
– Must have a hands-on approach, autonomy, diplomacy, tenacity, rigor, and flexibility
– Must be comfortable using computer systems and quickly become familiar with the software in use in the organization
– Must be fluently bilingual in French and English
