Job description: Job Summary:

JOB DESCRIPTION – FINANCE MANAGER

Location: Remote in Canada

Division: Ticketmaster NA (Canada)

Line Manager: VP, Finance – Canada

Contract Terms: Permanent, full-time (37.5 hours per week)

THE TEAM

The Ticketmaster Canada Finance team supports the Canadian sales & business development team and the broader North American finance and accounting group, while getting involved in fulsome business analysis and cross-functional projects. We are responsible for effective recordkeeping and internal and external reporting with a focus on evaluating business performance and identifying areas for improvement and growth.

THE JOB

Reporting directly to the VP-Finance, we are seeking a finance business partner with a strong analytical mind that can help the business adapt within a continually shifting industry landscape. As the company drives innovation in the live entertainment ticketing industry it is imperative that we understand the impact of those changes to our business, our clients and our customers. We are undertaking an ERP conversion that will greatly enhance the availability of financial data to allow for much more meaningful insights related to the Canadian business and beyond.

External reporting requirements will be a relatively small component of the role, primarily reporting to various government agencies and working with external service providers where necessary.

The role is designed as an Independent Contributor, with the ability for growth within that stream or to take on staff/team management in the future. Current opportunities exist for peer mentoring and leadership among financial analysts and accountants.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

Prepare monthly financial results with comparison to historical and budgets, identifying discrepancies and areas for future attention; deliver results and analysis for Canada business leadership, corporate finance leadership and global business line leaders.

Lead the annual budgeting process, setting expectations for business performance by business line, revenue stream and client segment.

Ongoing, day-to-day review of financial results to understand performance at a macro-level and identify key factors impacting the results; when there is a discrepancy from plan/forecast to actual results, follow-up on the source of that discrepancy and make a recommendation for corrective action.

Determine viability of new business opportunities through rigorous quantitative analysis and KPI development; monitor new initiatives and make strategic recommendations to improve performance

Participate in ERP system conversion with February 2024 go-live, utilizing reporting enhancements to understand the business in different ways; deliver ongoing incremental improvements in reporting by understanding the detail of data captured.

Represent Canada and/or Finance in projects that span work groups and divisions within Canada, US and internationally to ensure solutions are both appropriate for the Canadian business and that scalable globally.

Present key financial updates; not only analyze data, but also effectively communicate the underlying story with narrative supported by compelling visuals.

Provide supporting documentation / liaise with external advisors who will prepare annual tax returns.

Prepare periodic external reporting as required.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (or TECHNICAL SKILLS)

Bachelor’s Degree in finance, accounting, economics or statistics

5+ years of work experience post-undergrad, preferably in a demanding accounting or corporate finance role

CPA designation would be a benefit

Should you want to work from an office and participate in collaboration days, please note we have office locations in Toronto, ON., and Montreal, QC!

YOU (BEHAVIOURAL SKILLS)

Knowledge of accounting processes, income statement/balance sheet/cash flow impact of financial decisions

Outstanding communication, attention to detail and organizational skills – able to communicate complex analyses in a simple, yet effective, manner

Proactive, analytical thinker with the ability to manage multiple high priority deadlines impacting a variety of stakeholders

Entrepreneurial spirit, ability to think outside the box and a hunger to work in an environment where testing, learning, failing and recovering are all pre-requisites to success

Strong problem-solving attitude when faced with challenges: identify the source of the issue and evaluate alternatives by collaborating with peers to understand various costs/benefits

Proven track record as an effective liaison between finance and other functional areas including project management experience

Highly skilled in Excel, DOMO, SQL, and/or other big data software; comfort with large data sets and modeling

Assertive yet professional demeanor; persistent and willingness to lead the way

Desire to help create a fun and productive culture, leveraging Ticketmaster’s focus on sports and music
