Job Description:

The Finance Manager will support the Corporate Support expense management team and functions of the Corporate Support controllership. This role will provide support to select Corporate functions for all finance related activities including strategic planning, budgeting/forecasting, reporting, chargeback process, expense optimization and business casing. The position will also consolidate the results for all Corporate Support functions.

This role will report to the Director, Financial Planning & Analysis.

What will you do?

  • Responsible for consolidation of Corporate functional expenses and Corporate Support P&L. The role will be consolidating P&L for Corporate
  • Capital, Corporate Tax and Investments.
  • Consolidate the Business Plan and forecasting cycles for Corporate functions (Finance, Marketing, etc), including Corporate Support
  • Partner with Corporate support functions (Finance, Marketing, etc.) for expense management and all finance related queries
  • Work closely with the Controllership team on the month-end and quarter-end closing process
  • Help manage the Corporate allocation process, aim to reduce turnaround time, eliminate uncertainty among our business clients
  • Budget cycle and forecasting cycles coordination, working with Hyperion systems support, budget end users, and functional leaders to ensure adherence to approved Business Plans where necessary
  • Partner with Corporate actuarial in updating the annual Expense governance study for Corporate

What do you need to succeed?

  • 5+ years of experience in Finance and accounting
  • Accounting designation (CPA)with progressive experience within the financial management functions Proven track record of partnering with and influencing business units to drive results
  • Ability to think strategically about business, products, and technical challenges
  • Extensive experience in building and operating financial controls and analysis
  • Experience in working with large, complex organizations
  • Utilizes organizational know how to continually focus on the development and improvement of complex business processes

  • Strong communication skills with ability to communicate both complex business and technical concepts and align organization on decisions

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
