Our client is a growing software and hardware company that is looking to add a finance manager to oversee the finance function, act as a right hand to the general manager and oversee the day to operations of office and operations staff.

Responsibilities include providing guidance and supervision to a small staff responsible for accounting operations, performing various internal accounting processes, and ensuring timely delivery of accurate financial information. Additionally, the role will be hands-on with ad hoc projects as required, partnering with operational team leads to ensure consistent performance and enable growth.

The Role:

• Manage the accounting operations including the review of journal entries, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and statutory reporting
• Establish and oversee internal controls to ensure that accounting activities are in accordance with established legal regulatory and company policies and procedures
• Prepare, analyze, and present monthly, quarterly financial, and business reporting including sale reports and aged reports (AR, AP)
• Coordinate the year-end audit and preparation of the audited financial statements
• Generate budget and forecast reporting
• Provide advice and guidance on all accounting matters including financial systems, record keeping, taxes, and HR
• Support new systems implementation from strategic, finance, and internal control perspectives
• Bank account and Credit Card Reconciliations
• Cash receipts recording and monthly reconciliation of accounts receivable
• Responsible for customer invoicing and collection (accuracy, timeliness, collection)
• Responsible for all matters relating to HR including payroll, hiring, termination in cooperation with the General Manager
• Responsible for tax submission and payments (HST, GST, etc.) and communication relevant authorities
• Take ownership of the relationship with vendors including procurement, payments, contract negotiation, etc.
• Responsible for business operation (warehouse) and in conjunction with the technical team lead, prepare performance reporting to ensure efficiency
• General Office Management duties to ensure the smooth running of the offices

The Ideal Candidate:

Our client is seeking a CPA designation and an individual who is ready to prove their worth in a leadership role in a growing organization. The successful applicant must be highly organized with strong attention to detail and an ability to multi-task. Strong written and oral communications skills are required as well as an ability to work manage the work and timelines of themselves and others.

Salary: $65,000 – $$85,000 depending on experience
