The Manager, Contracts contributes to the overall success of the Technology Finance team by conducting financial due diligence on all technology contracts with 3rd party vendors. The manger will ensure all activities conducted within the contracts follow governing regulations, internal policies and procedures and aligning with authorized funding plans.

Key Accountabilities

  • Perform necessary due diligence on IT contracts prior to executive signing to identify potential risks, opportunities, and financial constraints
  • Track quantitative and qualitative benefits from contracts
  • Validate savings resulting from contract signing and translate to the P&L forecast and monitor actual spending
  • Work closely with project managers, procurement and FP&A teams to question details of the contracts and to ensure proper funding has been approved
  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge
  • Prepares and presents complex financial data and information in a meaningful, concise and user-friendly manner for management
  • Contributes to the maintenance of strong financial governance through implementing best practices. Supports audit requests and the communication of financial policies, guidelines and Bank practices
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct
  • Champions a high-performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment

Experience / Education:

  • A professional designation (e.g. CPA) or graduate degree (e.g. MBA) preferred
  • Experienced in reviewing, drafting and/or adjusting legally binding contracts
  • Experienced with technology products, especially software
  • Knowledge of financial and management reporting standards applied to banking issues (e.g. Intangibles), and understanding of the business planning process, dealing with accounting systems, budgets and internal controls
  • Strong technical skills in MS Excel (MS Excel VBA would be an asset)
