Finance Manager, FP&A – Meadowvale (12-month contract)

The Opportunity:
The Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis will be responsible for leading the forecasting and budgeting processes for all of Maple Leaf along with preparing board presentations. This is a high visibility role that works with Senior executives and finance leads of each operating unit. The successful candidate must have exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills and strong bias for action. In addition, they need to have strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills while being able to manage multiple stakeholders. This position has one direct report.

A snap shot of some of the exciting things you will lead and do:

Forecasting

  • Work with Finance Leads on a monthly basis to consolidate company earnings
  • Analyze operating unit submissions ensuring thorough understanding of results and challenging when appropriate
  • Review monthly consolidation for accuracy and completeness
  • Assist in developing monthly commentary for Senior Management
  • Participate in monthly Senior management reviews

Budgeting

  • Manage the annual budget cycle and lead the planning share group across all operating units
  • Develop timelines and work closely with finance leads to ensure timelines are met and assist as required
  • Consolidate key assumptions for both P&L and Balance Sheet and gain alignment with Senior Management
  • Review consolidated budget P&L and Balance Sheet for accuracy and completeness
  • Prepare the operating review section of the budget board deck and other reference materials

5 Year Outlook

  • Manage the company’s annual strategic plan update working with finance leads to consolidate the five year outlook of the business
  • Review the consolidated model for completeness and accuracy
  • Analyze operating unit submissions ensuring thorough understanding of results and challenging when appropriate
  • Prepare the operating review section of the strategic board deck and other reference materials

Reporting

  • Responsible for quarterly Board operating reports
  • Support external reporting with market data
  • Prepare or review monthly management reports
  • Provide Support for Senior Management presentations as required

People Management

  • Responsible for one direct report
  • Provide coaching, review work and provide input into performance evaluation

What you will bring:

  • Post-secondary degree in Accounting or Business required
  • Accounting Designation is required
  • 3 to 5 years of FP&A experience required
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint required
  • Must have excellent analytical skills and be a detail-oriented person
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated personal leadership
  • Must strongly demonstrate our Maple Leaf Leadership values
  • SAP and BPC experience an asset
  • Previous supervisory experience is an asset
