Department Overview
Finance Production Support (FPS) provides system and data maintenance support for approximately 30 Enterprise Finance Systems. This support encompasses 5 core processes:
1) Master Data Maintenance – manage chart of accounts and reporting hierarchies
2) System Maintenance – maintain operational data & functionality settings
3) Access Management – provision users to functions and data
4) Incident Management – resolve issues when applications are not working as expected
5) Change Management – coordinate changes to system or base settings
Job Requirements
The successful candidate will possess a unique blend of customer service, technical and financial
skills. This position requires:
- System operations and/or data maintenance processing experience.
- Financial data experience preferred.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; ability to compare, reconcile, and perform detailed analysis on large data sets; ability to simplify and to see the ‘big picture’ in a complex environment.
- Strong MS Office skills (MS Access and VB/macro skills would be a great asset).
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and ad hoc requests.
- Motivated achiever with good organizational and time management skills.
- Self-motivation, with initiative to investigate and resolve issues and meet demanding turnaround times.
- Ability to manage strong relationships within and across multiple businesses and technology groups.
- An enthusiastic, positive, and cooperative individual who can work independently and function well in a team environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Project management experience would be an asset.

Job Description
Reporting to the Team Lead of the Master Data Management team (MDM), the resource will be
responsible for a range of activities supporting the maintenance of Finance Master Data across various Finance applications. This includes reviewing and processing of Finance data maintenance requests, data analysis and investigation, and supporting business and Finance users with their related questions/enquiries. This position requires strong technical skills, Finance and/or systems operations experience and a good understanding of Finance applications and financial information flow. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong time management skills, business level analytics skills, be results driven, and be able to manage complex business demands. The candidate should also have solid communication skills with the ability to liaise with technology, business, Finance, and project partners.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Review submitted data maintenance request forms from users for completeness, accuracy, and adherence to data governance and accounting standards. Provide feedback and advice on any noncompliant requests.
- Accurate and timely processing of data maintenance within various Finance systems/applications, including standard validation/reconciliation exercises.
- Monitoring of reject/suspense reports and following up with impacted stakeholders to ensure an effective action plan is in place to resolve rejected postings or feeds.
- Perform key data and master data analysis, including comparisons and reconciliations between Finance systems.
- Command an understanding of the Finance data governance standards and policies that govern the maintenance under their responsibility, with the ability to interpret the standards as they relate to maintenance requests.
- Command an understanding of the Finance systems under accountability, including a general understanding of the up- and downstream impacts of maintenance on reporting.
- Command an understanding of the purpose and impact of changes to reporting hierarchies and Master Data mapping tables.
- Identify, recommend, and implement opportunities to automate, streamline, and further enhance team processes.
- Support ongoing project initiatives from a data maintenance capacity, as required.
- Prepare/update reporting and maintenance procedures and verification documentation for new/revised reporting and operational processes.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with business, Finance, and technology partners and other subject matter experts to provide superior operational support. Be able to provide value added advice to key business partners on all aspects of the data maintenance processes.

Additional Information
Post-secondary degree in business, computer sciences, and/or finance/accounting.
Accounting designation (CA, CMA, CGA) or related work experience would be an asset.
