The LDB is one of two branches of government responsible for the cannabis and liquor industry of B.C. We operate the wholesale distribution of beverage alcohol and non-medical cannabis within the province, as well as the household retail brands of BC Liquor Stores and BC Cannabis Stores.

Finance is separated into four work groups (Finance Corporate, Finance Wholesale, Finance Retail, and Shared Services) and provides financial services to all LDB departments. The Finance division provides financial reporting, advisory services, budgeting, capital asset reporting, and financial transactional processing (banking, accounting payable, accounts receivable). Finance is responsible for the LDB’s enterprise risk management program and oversees regulatory compliance for BC liquor manufacturers/warehouses.

The Finance Inventory Analyst provides inventory management and accounting-related expertise, analysis, recommendations to support optimal inventory control and accounting best practices related to inventory management activities arising from the $1 billion dollar in sales made by the BC Liquor Stores across the province.

Position Requirements:

Education and Experience:

The following equivalencies will be considered:

  • Degree in accounting or business administration or equivalent discipline and six months of recent, related, experience*
  • Diploma in accounting or business administration or equivalent discipline and one year of recent, related experience*
  • Certificate in accounting or business administration or equivalent discipline and three years of recent, related experience*

*Recent, related experience must include experience in the following within the last 5 years:

  • Providing financial services (see ‘specific accountabilities,’ above), including inventory transactions, reconciliation, adjustments, exception reporting, etc.
  • Providing analysis and recommendations related to the financial aspects of inventory management and the resolution of issues.

Preference may be given to those candidates’ experience in the beverage alcohol industry/supply chain, or a large retail environment.
